Who Wrote The Bible, And When? The History Of The Book | HistoryExtra

I figure I do this mostly because I’ve had most of this information committed to memory since I was 12. The previous name of this blog was “Why I Believe The Bible is Truth”. I’m now about to show you why that is.

I did set some ground rules for putting this page together:

  1. Let the Bible speak for Itself: When it comes to Prophecy, the Bible does provide additional clarity or explaination somewhere else usually in the same book. I mean from the Old Testament to the New Testament and vice versa.
  2. Refer to World History when appropriate: One of the biggest myths still being pushed by agnostics and athiests is much what’s described in Bible could not have actually happened. Unfortunately for them, the fossil record and archeological records have proven otherwise.
  3. Keep Things Simple: That’s the main reason to read the articles in this section. I took quite a bit of inspiration from Amazing Facts Ministries on that note. I want this to be approachable by anyone.

In addition to this, I will use the Question & Answer format (Q&A) to help with Rule #3 in particular. That should also make things fun. I am no rush with this and in fact, I am expecting all of these pages to take 5 to 10 years to complete personally. I am committed to seeing this done however long it takes.

I’m going to break things up into the following sections:

…What, surprised this list is almost as long as what I put for the Old Testament? Well this just for the Bible. I do have some additonal articles planned that continue to the present.

Throughout the New Testament articles, I will make sure to mention Old Testament Prophecies that were fulfilled where it happened. Did you know Jesus quotes Psalm 22:1 during the crucifixion? “My God, My God, Why Have you Forsaken Me?” is the first verse of the 22nd Psalm which was written by David. It along with the 23rd Psalm are both believed to have been written while he (David) was running from King Saul.

While all of the articles will be 100% free no catch here, I am also willing to make a hard offline-only copy for you in PDF form for a small fee. This could be helpful for those who may have limited internet, may want to send these articles to someone who lives in an area with limited internet or just wants to print them out.

My asking price right now is $5 for up to 5 articles. I factored the above things in my asking price. When I finish the articles for them, I plan to offer PDF copies of all three sections for $40 while all of the Old and New Testament articles together will be $20.

Here’s what will be in the third category I kept mentioning:

…Whew.

Keep in mind that this third list is likely to have more things added to it over time. Although much of these topics are mostly relevant to Europe and North America, they all have global implications. As I finish articles I will announce them from the blog. I plan to finish writing 2 or 3 pages before announcing them. If any existing pages are updated, I will make those announcements too of course.

In regards to all 3 categories, I will not be writing or publishing them in the order you see written. I know some will take much longer to write than others is why. I don’t have a specific order I plan to write in on that note either.

If you have enjoyed this post or other posts I have made on this blog, please consider making a monetary donation via PayPal. Whatever amount you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
